The network made the decision based on the upward trend of the outbreak in NYC. "Given the current developing situation in New York City, we have made the decision to suspend live audiences from attending our news broadcasts and talk shows." said ABC spokesperson.
GoodGood Morning America was already taking precautions by asking their talent to stop taking selfies with their studio audience.
WeWe can expect more networks to follow the lead of ABC soon. There is no word on whether NBC's Today will clear out Rockefeller Plaza to their fans or will stop hosting audiences for their talk shows.
