Palm Beach County Fire Rescue says a boy was flown to the hospital by a trauma hawk helicopter around 6:30 p.m. on Friday from Shark Wake Park.
Shark Wake Park just opened in June 2019, owned by golf pro Greg Norman. It has an inflatable floating playground and allows people to wakeboard without using a boat.
The park says it uses two full-size towers connected to running cable systems.
Park users need to be at least seven years old and know how to swim.
The company issued this statement from Greg Norman Jr., to CBS12 News:
We are aware of the incident that occurred as a guest fell while wakeboarding and we are currently attending to the needs of the family involved. We are a family-owned company and our primary concern at this time is the health and well-being of the individual. We are investigating the incident and taking all necessary precautions and will continue to provide additional information as it becomes available.
