An Indian River County man faces charges of threatening to kill his girlfriend and her three-year-old daughter.
The woman and child were able to escape the home on Sunday after claiming 23-year old Edgerrin Billie threatened to use a butcher knife on them.
Deputies arrived to find the man holed up inside the home, armed with the knife. The Sheriff's SWAT, Crisis and Negotiations Team, along with the drone unit, worked to safely get Billie to come out. He eventually did, and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence.
Officials say he is a convicted felon who was on probation.
